Creating Content in the Admin Panel

The Admin Panel makes it easy to create and manage engaging content for your church—use this guide to get started.

Getting Started: Accessing the Content Section

  1. From the left sidebar in the Admin Panel, click the Content icon (stacked layers).

  2. On the Content Management page:

    • Select an existing Collection on the left panel (e.g., Sermons, Announcements, Events).

    • Or click + Add a Collection to create a new one.

Creating New Content

In the top-right corner of the Content page, choose:

  • Create AI — Let Apollos AI help you write content.

  • Create from Blank — Start from scratch and fully customize.

Add a Cover and Media

Add a Cover Photo

Click "Add Cover" to upload a header image from:

  • Files

  • Website URL

  • Camera

  • Google Drive / Dropbox

  • Shutterstock

Tip: Use a photo related to your content, such as a photo of your church, ministry team, or a themed image for the series.

Add Media

Click "Add Media" to embed:

  • Link: Direct video file URL (.m3u8)

  • YouTube: Paste a video URL or ID

  • Audio: Direct URL to an MP3 file (.mp3)

Using Content Blocks ("/" Command)

In the editor, type "/" to view and insert various content blocks.

Write with AI

Use /write with AI to get content suggestions quickly.

  • Prompt example: "Create a quote inspired by a Bible verse about love.”

  • AI will generate content you can Insert, Retry, or Discard.

Event Block

Use the /event block to highlight important church gatherings like Sunday services, Bible studies, or outreach events.

You’ll be prompted to enter:

  • Title: e.g., “Youth Worship Night”

  • Start & End: Choose the date and time

  • Location: e.g., church building, Zoom link

All Day: Toggle this on for all-day events

Button Block

Use the /button block to create clear call-to-action buttons, such as:

  • “Register Now”

  • “Watch Sermon”

  • “Give Online”

After entering your button text, add the target URL.

You can also choose whether the link opens in the same tab or a new tab — perfect for linking sign-ups, videos, or giving platforms.

Image Block

Use the /image block to upload visuals like church banners, speaker photos, or event flyers.

You can upload an image from:

  • Your device

  • A direct link

  • Google Drive or Dropbox

After uploading, you can click Upload More to add more images or Done to finish.

Paragraph

This is your default text block. Use it to:

  • Share devotionals or message summaries

  • Write welcome messages

  • Explain what your content is about

Headings (H1, H2, H3)

Structure your content with headings:

  • H1: Title or main section (e.g., Weekly Bulletin)

  • H2: Subtopics (e.g., Announcements, Worship Setlist)

  • H3: Minor sections (e.g., Scripture Reference)

Bullet List

Use for:

  • Key points from a sermon

  • Highlights from a ministry

Numbered List

Use for step-by-step guides:

  • How to register for a retreat

  • Steps for joining a small group

Quote Block

Feature impactful statements:

  • Bible verses

  • Quotes from a sermon

  • Testimonies

Question Block

Insert interactive questions for:

  • Sermon reflection

  • Bible trivia

  • Small group discussions

Example:

Rearranging Blocks

  • Hover your mouse over any block.

  • Grab the drag handle on the left.

  • Drag and drop to rearrange the content.

Publishing Your Content

From the right side panel:

  • Publish: Set a go-live date/time

  • Expire: Set a content expiration date

  • #Tags: Add searchable keywords

  • Summary: Write or generate a teaser blurb

  • Engagement: Allow users to comment or not

  • Related Content:

    • Parent: Link it to a broader topic (e.g., "Sermon Series")

    • Child: Add sub-content (e.g., "Week 2 Message")

Click Publish (top right) when you're ready.

Editing Existing Content

  1. Go to the Content Management page

  2. Find your content

  3. Click the pencil ✎ icon to edit

  4. Changes are autosave

Unpublishing Content

  1. Open the content using the Edit icon

  2. Click Published button (top right)

  3. Select Unpublish → status changes to Draft

Final Tips

  • Use headings and block types to organize content clearly

  • Take advantage of AI and engagement tools to add variety

  • Always preview before publishing!
